The Trinidad Espiritu Series No. 2 is the collaborative effort of two living legends in the cigar industry: AJ Fernandez and Rafael Nodal of Aging Room and head of product capability for Tabacalera USA. This medium to full bodied cigar features an oily, dark Brazilian Arapiraca maduro wrapper that cloaks a Nicaraguan binder and a filler composed of long-filler leaves from Nicaragua and Brazil. Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

Brazilian Arapiraca
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Brazilian Arapiraca is grown in the Brazilian municipality of Arapiraca in the eastern central part of the country. The production of this popular tobacco leaf has earned Arapiraca the nickname of "Brazilian Tobacco Capital". Arapiraca tobacco is thicker than Mata Fina but more subtle in both flavor and aroma. It is used to add complexity to a blend.

Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Brazil
Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.
Brazil produces rich, medium to strong, dark tobaccos with a sweet taste and aroma. Most of the cigar production is concentrated on the eastern coast of Brazil, in the state of Bahia.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

Starts out as a spice bomb, but the flavors marry nicely going into the second third. Hay, oak, and earth give way to a cocoa and spice finish. Progressing further, the spicy profile is toned down and a dried fruit sweetness comes to the forefront. While not overly complex in the beginning, there are some interesting transitions that will surprise you, and the flavors are very enjoyable. Great construction all around. Fans of bold flavors should check this out.

An excellent hearty and peppery smoke with a full draw and consistent burn. Smoked this back to back with the original Espiritu. Both excellent smokes but I favor this one with its Brazilian tobacco. Worthy of a spot on my short list of favorites.

Good construction, burn, beautiful looking cigar. pepper on the plus side, bold espresso, cocoa, earth, slightly sweet, creamy, thick smoke, strong but manageable nicotine kick. Lacks complexity, transitions middle of the dial between smooth and harsh (flavors kick). beginner beware. Appropriate for after dinner with Burbon or coffee.

When I tried the robusto vitola it went straight into my top 3. The toro is now my in my top 1. This fantastic cigar has amazing flavours and is never harsh. The burn is razor sharp from start to finish and the draw flawless. It looks beautiful and is just a sublime experience.

This stick blew me away. Rich, full flavoured and a very intense smoke. It reminded me of a richer Davidoff Escurio (also uses Brazilian tobacco). Construction amazing and draw was terrific on all the sticks. Ordered two more boxes!

What a great stick another one of my go to cigars. Great construction, dark bold flavors and long burn time. My only disappointment is that it took so long for me to smoke it. As usual the cigars arrived on time and not damaged great job Neptune Cigars.

This is a lovely looking stick, with bands that contrast nicely with the dark wrap. Construction was bulletproof, with no cracking or unraveling. Upon lighting, it immediately settled into a clean, even burn. The ash isn't as stable as many others, but it wasn't flaky and flyaway. The draw was superb, requiring no effort at all. Deep leather and dark chocolate are the dominant flavors, with hints of earth, oak and black cherry intermingled throughout. After a puff, a mild citrus aftertaste appeared through the middle of the smoke. It is, indeed, "balanced and complex," and well worth buying again!!

This is a flat out box worthy smoke that is pure pleasure! From first light the aromatics are intoxicating. The strength and flavors are consistent and absolutely terrific. The construction is flawless, great burn and solid ash. I highly recommend trying this, and yes it's worth the price. Pure quality.

Brazilian tobacco tastes really good

When you bring together two great minds in the cigar industry like Rafael Nodal and AJ Fernandez, chances are high that you'll get a great cigar. Luckily, that is exactly what you get in the Trinidad Espiritu No.2 Magnum. What first caught my eye was the super dark Brazilian wrapper. At first light, you are introduced to a nice earthy note and a hint of pepper. It has a great draw to it, which is always welcomed. If you like to retrohale when you smoke, try it with this one - the earthy notes intensify big time. So far, I found the strength to be medium-full. At the halfway point of the cigar, the pepper notes do diminish a bit, with the earthiness still present. The strength does pick up now to a straight on full body, but not that much that will make you put the cigar down. Towards the end of the cigar, the pepper notes do make a comeback. The best part about this is that it's not overwhelming, just enough to make you enjoy the cigar that much more with a deliciously smooth spice. Overall, this cigar is one that all full-body smokers will definitely enjoy. And if you really want to send your experience to the moon, enjoy this Trinidad Espiritu with a good drink. I would recommend a glass of either Johnnie Walker Black or Tomatin. It will compliment it just right!
