Sancho Panza TAA

The Sancho Panza TAA cigar is a reimagined version of the original. It was developed by Matt Booth (of Room 101 cigars) and Justin Andrews (New Business Development Manager of Scandinavian Tobacco Group). It is a medium bodied cigar that features a smooth Honduran wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and a Nicaraguan filler. The wrapper is from the Jamastran Valley in Honduras. The binder is from Jalapa, and the filler is from Condega, Esteli, and Jalapa in Nicaragua. These are four the top tobacco growing regions in these two Central American countries. It is the first time that this iconic brand is being made in Nicaragua. The Sancho Panza TAA is available exclusively through members of the Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA), which is a group of the top tobacconists in the nation. The TAA consists of about 80 retailers and 40 manufacturers, which Neptune Cigars is proud to be a member of.

Honduran cigar wrapper has the reputation of great quality, with wrapper leaf being grown in the Jamastran, Talanga and San Agustin valleys. Some of the wrappers being grown in Honduras include Corojo, Honduran Claro, Honduran Criollo, Honduran Jamastran Viso Rosado, Honduran San Agustin Havana Seed and San Agustin Ligero.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Founded by Edgar Cullman, Sr. in 1960, the company experienced incredible success with their Macanudo brand. After a series of acquisitions throughout the years that made General Cigars one of the largest cigar manufacturers in the world, the company merged with Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) in 2010.
