Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Colorado is a medium brown color also known as EMS or English Market Selection as this used to be the color with more popularity in England than in America.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Nicaraguan Corojo '99 tobacco originated as a wrapper leaf in 1999 in Cuba. The seeds of the original Corojo '99 seed were planted in Ecuador, and these in turn were transplanted to Nicaragua. The leaf is appreciated for its excellent wrapper qualities and spiciness.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

I tasted layers of flavors. A little spicy from the start just like any other Aganorsa leaf cigars.

The Aniversario 25 opens with a dense, chewy smoke that immediately coats the palate. The draw is generous, producing thick clouds with little effort, and the creamy smoke texture is a huge part of the appeal. Early on, the profile centers on toasted nuts, fresh cedar, and a clean, natural tobacco sweetness typical of Aganorsa’s Nicaraguan Corojo. There’s a measured pepper presence, most noticeable on the retrohale, but it stays refined rather than aggressive. As it develops, the cigar settles into a balanced, nuanced smoke. Flavors of roasted coffee, light cocoa, and warm baking spice come forward, layered over a core of earthy, Jalapa-style sweetness. The smoke texture stays creamy and dense, and the cigar hardly had to be corrected. In the final third, strength ramps up slightly, bringing deeper notes of espresso, leather, and charred oak. The sweetness settles, overtaken by a more savory, concentrated finish. The cigar remains smooth and balanced through to the end. This cigar perfectly toes the line between a daytime golf stick and an after-dinner smoke. Perfectly balanced, I think this would pair well with a good lager or some sparkling water (my preferred choice); neither option will overpower the cigar’s taste.

Nice cigar. Started with a punch of pepper and as the pepper mellowed out I got quite a bit of chocolate. Not as spectacular as I expect for the price point though

A great cigar in my opinion. Very similar to other Aganorsa Leaf offerings, but possibly higher quality and strength tobacco. Superbly assembled.

Great tasting cigar (as an Aganorsa Acolyte I love Aganorsa tobacco and blends). Similar flavors to the Guardian of the Farm Cerberus but stronger red pepper and more cream. Very glad I tried but at this price and being limited production, will stick to my preferred Rare Leaf Reserve Corojo

Aganorsa Leaf creates some of my favorite smokes. The Supreme Leaf, the Rare Reserve Maduro, the Anniversario Maduro, and even the JFR line are all great smokes. And I was anticipating something special in this 25th anniversary smoke. I decided to spend the hefty $25 for this limited edition, and I was stoked. However, I gotta say.....I'm smoking it right now, and I'm extemely disappointed in the flavor profile. It is nothing special at all. Especially for the high cost. The burn, construction, and draw are all of exceptional quality which you would expect in a $25 cigar, but the flavors just aren't there. Medium body at best. There is very little spice, and the retro inhale isn't anything special. Very little complexity. Just eh. I would not recommend for anybody who isn't sure about spending the money for a Limited edition stick. Aganorsa makes way better sticks for a lot less.
