Neptune Staff Picks 2023, 5-Cigar Sampler

This Neptune Staff Pick sampler features five of the many cigars selected by staff for review in 2023, the year we thawed a 46,000 year old worm frozen in Siberian permafrost. These cigars were chosen by Neptunites for reasons ranging from economy to taste to simple curiosity.   Brick House Classic

  Brick House Cigars are a flavorful handmade Nicaraguan puro created by third-generation cigar makers, Eric and Bobby Newman to recreate the vintage cigar brand their grandfather J.C. Newman launched in 1895 to honor his family heritage and his beloved childhood memories. The Brick House cigar wrapper is a hearty Havana Subido and the blend is made of specially aged Nicaraguan tobaccos.

  Camacho Triple Maduro

  As its name boldly states, the Camacho Triple Maduro is composed of maduro leaves from filler to wrapper. It starts with maduro filler leaves from Brazil, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic, which are bound by a Corojo maduro binder and finally covered by a rustic, oily, Mexican San Andres maduro wrapper. Each leaf has undergone a deep fermentation process, which creates a savory medium to full-bodied, smoking experience that will appeal to maduro lovers. It is considered the world’s only maduro cigar. The cigars are handmade in Honduras.

  CAO Cameroon

  CAO Cameroon cigars are wrapped with Grade One African Cameroon wrapper and filled and bound with rich, earthy Nicaraguan tobacco. The result is a mild to medium, sweet, spicy, coffee and caramel laden smoke. One of the mildest cigars of the CAO brand, the Cameroon has been rated 92 by Cigar Aficionado.

  Eiroa The First 20 Years Colorado

  Christian Eiroa wowed the cigar world last year with the release of his First 20 Years line, and now he has added another iteration for everyone to sink their teeth into, the First 20 Years Colorado. This box-pressed Honduran cigar comes with a Corojo leaf aged for a minimum of 5 years, giving it the reddish color for which it's named. Medium to full bodied, one can expect a toasty, earthy, peppery smoke from this version. Another worthy addition to the CLE legacy.

  Kristoff San Andres

  Kristoff San Andres was released at the 2015 IPCPR and is a medium to full bodied, very attractive stick with a dark San Andreas Mexican wrapper. The binder is an Ecuadorian Habano seed and fillers are Nicaraguan Habano tobaccos. Sweet and smooth, certain to deliver everything that you expect from a great maduro.
