Wrapper Series: Best of Broadleaf 7-Cigar Sampler

Neptune’s Broadleaf Sampler highlights one of the cigar world’s most iconic wrappers, prized for its rugged texture, natural sweetness, and bold depth. Broadleaf wrappers primarily thrive in Connecticut’s River Valley, the rich volcanic soils of Nicaragua, and the historic fields of Pennsylvania, each region lending its own accent. These thick, hearty leaves demand extended fermentation, unlocking flavors that broadly range from earthy and cocoa-like to spicy and robust, often with natural sweetness. This collection shows how origin and process shape the many dimensions of Broadleaf.

  Arturo Fuente Maduro

The Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva cigars have been made by four generations of family tradition, love, pride and personal sacrifice. The Fuente family oversees every step of the cigar making process, from seed planting to cigar packaging. Blended with tobaccos set aside from Chateau Fuente's crop exclusively for the making of these cigars, the Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva cigars are then skillfully rolled with a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. Then, they are aged in Spanish cedar vaults to allow the blends to marry together, which produces an outstanding, well-balanced, flavorful taste.

  Ashton Maduro

Ashton Maduro is rare because of its selected and extremely limited Connecticut broad leaf wrapper. Only a few select leaves are chosen to make the Ashton Maduro cigar. The initial sweet taste of the Ashton Maduro cigar comes from the wrapper, but once lit, the cigar becomes rich and nutty thanks to the unhurried natural fermentation of the wrapper and the aged filler tobaccos.

  Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial

Blended by Pepin Garcia's son, Jaime, this cigar is a departure from their other brands. A little spice, some maduro sweetness thanks to its Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, and hints of nuts and chocolate make this well made full bodied cigar a must have for your humidor.

  La Aroma de Cuba

Rich and spicy, the new blend of La Aroma de Cuba is now handmade in Nicaragua by Pepin Garcia. The new cigar features gorgeous chocolaty Connecticut Broadleaf wrappers and a rich, spicy blend of Nicarguan tobaccos.

  Oliva Serie O Maduro

This cigar is made of Nicaraguan Habano filler and binder and a Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper. Blended for a rich and flavor smoke, the natural sweetness found in the Connecticut Broadleaf make this blend full bodied yet smooth.

  Tatuaje Nicaragua

Made in Nicaragua at the My Father factory by Jaime Garcia, the Tatuaje Nicaragua are rolled in classic Cuban tradition with Cuban seed tobacco grown in Nicaragua and a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. They are medium to full in flavor and feature a beautiful Cuban triple-cap.

  USA Connecticut Broadleaf

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Connecticut Broadleaf is grown in the United States' Connecticut Valley and is prized for its dark, oily, full flavored and aromatic characteristics. The plants are grown in full sun giving this cigar wrapper its characteristic sweetness. The Connecticut Broadleaf plant leaves are mainly processed as maduro tobacco. Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.
