Description
This medium-bodied stick delivers notes of spice, earth and sweetness. Its oily USA Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper covers a Nicaraguan binder and a Costa Rican and Nicaraguan filler. Handmade in Nicaragua at the Tabacalera Pichardo factory, the Crowned Heads Le Patissier No. 50 provides a balanced and complex smoking indulgence that makes it an excellent after dinner cigar. The cigar was named after the French term for pastry chef.

Imagine being in a forest with lots of oak trees, eating a creamy Black Forest gâteau with dark cherries, baking spices, and a touch of pepper — more black than white, I think. You’re sitting in an old leather armchair, not too far from a campfire, and there’s this light smokiness in the background that turns out to be really relaxing. Well, that’s pretty much what I felt while smoking this cigar. To sum it up, this is a superb cigar, with a very nice mix of boldness and sweetness, and one that really makes you slow down and enjoy each puff. The Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper does a great job delivering both spicy and sweet flavors. Crowned Heads picked the name Le Pâtissier wisely, because that’s exactly what it feels like: a flavor-packed dessert cigar for grown-ups — tasty, rich, but never too sweet.

Pretty dang good! Awesome construction, consistent burn and draw, very pleasant fruity, sweet, espresso, leather flavors. The spice is a little strong throughout the smoke, but I believe more age will make that go away, making this an extra smooth smoke. Creamy texture, solid chunks of ash, solid medium strength, a great little smoke overall. Definitely an after dinner, dessert cigar! Toothy as well!
