Aging Room Solera Sun Grown

The Aging Room Solera cigar as a concept was born out of Rafael Nodal's love for wine, and inspired by the Spanish Solera method of blending younger wines with more mature wines. For this cigar, different tobaccos harvested in different years are packed together for at least one year aging with the intention of marrying their flavors together before the cigar is rolled. As with other Aging Room cigars, the Solera is made in Santiago, Dominican Republic, by Jochy Blanco.

About: Aging Room Solera Sun Grown Festivo 4"3/4 * 52
I should wait and write reviews until cigars have had some time to sit in the humidor but as these are a pre-aged combination, decided to go straight out of the box with it. Upon unwrapping the new box and first opening it you get a huge nose full of earth/natural tobacco, with hints of almost want to say a kind of fruit but as allergies plague me I can't identify it; either way you get an amazing aroma that I can't quite put fully into words, but it was similar to the experience of opening a brand new box of Liga Privada 9's, so that says something. Now, here is where I ran into some drawbacks, which are similar to some concerns I have had with other Aging Room cigars. While the taste and aroma are to die for, the burn seems to often canoe or require touch ups. Perhaps I am smoking them to fast, but I don't have this issue on other brands so it is what it is, perhaps additional time in the wineador will fix it for these, M356's and F55's. The draw can also be tight and it was on this first one. The only Aging Room that I have noted without a somewhat tight draw were their boxed pressed F55's. Despite those minor faults, I have already given out two of these and they've got praised. Honestly, I wish I could live in a box of these, the aroma really is that outstanding and so is the taste of nuts and earth, light hints of leather but you actually taste tobacco itself which is one of the flavors I really look for in a cigar. Unlike the notes on the flavor, I didn't really notice any sweetness but did notice a slight white peppery taste throughout the entire cigar. The flavor was consistent throughout with a early prominent of nutty flavors on the toast that eased back and melded with a traditional sun grown cigar. Props to Aging Room for making another quality cigar, despite the draw issues which can be adjusted with different cuts/punches, burns can be dealt with, I would still buy another box without thinking twice.
