'Axis Mundi' is said to be the connection between Heaven and Earth, and after smoking one you surely will be glad you found it. Brought to you by Ventura Cigars and manufactured by Drew Estate, the Archetype Axis Mundi is a medium to full-bodied Nicaraguan cigar with a dark brown Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Indonesian Sumatra binder and Nicaraguan filler. Notes of nuts, charred wood and pepper dominate the palate and compliment each other perfectly. Whether or not you want to ponder the origins of the Universe while smoking it, there is no doubt that this cigar deserves to be discovered.

Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Colorado is a medium brown color also known as EMS or English Market Selection as this used to be the color with more popularity in England than in America.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuadorian Habano wrapper has become one of the most used cigar wrappers in the market. Grown primarily by the Oliva family, this tobacco originated from Habano or H2000 seeds brought to Ecuador from Cuba. This leaf is rich and flavorful thanks to the temperate climate of Ecuador and the quality of its volcanic soil.

Indonesia
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Tobacco is grown in many islands of the Archipelago but, as far as cigars are concerned, Sumatra and Java are the ones. Sumatra Wrappers are worldwide known. Central Java (Vorstenland) and East Java (Besuki) give fillers and wrappers in abundance. Indonesia is a key country for cigar tobacco.

I’ve had robustos and toros of this cigar before. First time with Churchill’s. I love these stick! I’ve only had one Churchill so far. It struggled to stay lit. I was out on the good course and most sticks are difficult to keep lit while you’re driving around, but this one seemed to be struggling harder than usual. Still, I’m a fan

Archetype Axis? I will say is a better tasting and looking cigar than I expected I have never smoked this stick and well, I am surprised with the cigar. Overall a great cigar! A great burn is a rare feature in cigars. Sure there are good burns but great – this is a tough find. When you do find it however, oh the joy that comes with it is something any cigar smoker will appreciate. The Archetype Axis Mundi has one of the greatest burns I have ever experienced. The Axis Mundi is a stupendous cigar with a construction that lets one sit back and relax a consistent flavor of cedar and oak that covers the tongue. While consistency may be a mark of dullness in some cigars, the Axis Mundi does not have this problem as the woody flavor is something one begs for even once the cigar is finished. Do be sure to enjoy this stick on a full stomach, as it does carry a subtle punch to be appreciated after a night of celebratory indulgence. Pairing this cigar is simple, select the drink you love to enjoy over the course of an hour or so, pour it, light this cigar up and prepare for an hour of sitting back and wasting away as a cigar that takes care of itself.

Great looking cigar, great construction and the label looks neat. First third I found to be a bit harsh but soon mellowed out with black coffee and cocoa. Became cream with the flavours becoming leathery and damp wood. Didn’t burn great for me, had to fix a few times and it went out three times. The draw was quite tight. Not blown away, much better out there for sure. Not bad but not great.
