The release of the La Aurora TAA Exclusivo marks the first time that La Aurora cigars has made a cigar exclusively for TAA members. This small batch cigar sports a natural Ecuadorian HVA wrapper draped over a Dominican binder, and a filler made of USA Connecticut Broadleaf, USA Pennsylvania and Dominican tobaccos. The La Aurora TAA Exclusivo is a limited release cigar that is available only through TAA members, only 500 boxes of 10 cigars per were made. The Tobacconist Association of America (TAA) is a group of the top tobacconists in the nation. It consists of about 80 retailers and 40 manufacturers, which Neptune Cigars is a proud member.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. Ecuador supplies Connecticut and Sumatra type wrappers to many cigar factory in the world.
Habana Vuelta Arriba
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.

The Habana Vuelta Arriba wrapper is made of a cross between the Corojo and GA-955 variety in an effort by the Cuban government to create a blue-mold resistant tobacco. It is primarily grown in the Vuelta Arriba region of Cuba.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Dominican Republic is a traditional tobacco-growing country. In the 60's, a Cuban seed was introduced and the resulting tobacco, called Piloto Cubano, became famous as a good substitute of the Cuban tobacco that was no longer allowed to enter the USA. Piloto Cubano is full bodied while the Dominican Olor tobacco is milder but more aromatic.

Making a TAA cigar is a big compromise and a very demanding task. It needs to have the look and of course the flavor of an special cigar. La Aurora TAA is a wonderful surprise for the senses. Aromas that take you to the tobacco farms, scents of rain and wet soil with a touch of citrus. The cigar has a beautiful Ecuador wrapper, a Dominican binder and Dominican and pennsylvania broadleaf as fillers; It may sound more simple and unpretentious that what in reality is. An elegant brown and gold band worthy of an special cigar ornate this stick, a special blend made for the TAA. After lighting it up and taking the first puff a subtle unidentified sweetness take over my palate, following for fairly strong woody notes. What a contrast! this notes accompanied each other without interfering, or without one overpowering the other one. The cigar starts as a medium, very creamy and soft, gaining strength after the first third. Those aromas from the beginning become flavors and one can feel hints of earth and cedar, the sweetness still but it develops some peppery notes here and there, In the last third the strength has increase a bit more but flavor has done it as well and is almost a full bodied smoke. Good draw and a perfect burn…It is a fact, La Aurora never disappoint.
