Can I take my cigar lighter on an airplane?

Question
Can I take my cigar lighter on a flight?
Answer
Carry On-Baggage

Not allowed.

Checked Baggage

Only disposable and Zippo lighters without fuel are allowed in checked bags. Lighters with fuel are prohibited in checked bags, unless they adhere to the Department of Transportation exemption, which allows up to two fueled lighters if properly enclosed in a DOT approved case. If you are uncertain as to whether your lighter is prohibited, please leave it at home. Torch lighters are prohibited.

Matches

One box of safety (non-strike anywhere) matches are permitted as carry-on items, but all matches are prohibited in checked baggage.

Butane

Butane is prohibited on carry on bags and checked bags.
