The Romeo y Julieta Vintage is a handmade premium with a light brown Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper, Mexican binder and Dominican filler. The smoke is mild to medium, and the tobacco is perfectly aged, creamy and flavorful.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Natural wrapper, also known as Colorado Claro, is light brown in color.

Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. This climate allows tobacco growers to grow Connecticut-seed wrapper in the shade without shade cloths, resulting in more economical wrapper.

Mexico
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Mexican tobacco is primarily grown in the San Andres region due to its volcanic soil. It has a very distinctive flavor with a spicy and earthy profile. As a binder it adds to the cigar’s overall flavor.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.
Filler (or “tripa” in Spanish) is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar. The Dominican Republic is considered one of the most premier tobacco growing countries in the world. The filler tobacco grown in this Caribbean island nation ranges from mild to full bodied. Olor Dominicano and Piloto Cubano are the main types of tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic.

This will be the third time I've had this sampler and its become a tradition to order it every holiday season. Both times I was pleased with 8 and only mildly disappointed with 1. Offers a good cross section of choices with varying flavors and strengths. My personal favs are the Monte and the Banker but there is something in this sampler for everyone. first time ordering it from Neptune and got it fast with no issues at all.

Had this once before and liked it so much I had to get it again and make sure it wasn’t a fluke. It wasn’t. Great balance of flavors, not too spicy nor too sweet, the perfect vitola to have with a cup of coffee in the morning, or a nice scotch in the evening. Creamy, nutty, with a touch of spice - delicious!

Bought this based on the reviews but ended up throwing it in the trash halfway through. Really wanted to enjoy it and was really disappointed it didn't deliver. I'd try to explore something else in their line-up if I could buy a different cigar from them.

This is my go to sampler. I have never been disatisfied with this one. The cigars are always fresh and ready to smoke. Smooth dry draw with no binding, wrapper is smooth and there is a nice aroma, easy lighting with smooth burn. I have yet to have to fix a crooked burn. It is a must try.

The cool retro style cigar band on this smoke is what initially made me gravitate towards it. I was looking for something on the mild side so I decided on the vintage. The cigar itself has a very smooth Connecticut shade wrapper and gives off a light appearance. The initial first few minutes of this stick were to my surprise very mild with none of the instant pepper and spice you get with most other cigars. The first half is what I would consider very mild but still flavorful containing many distinct notes. Predominately I can taste traces of honey and cinnamon throughout with a bit of very faint white pepper as well as other mild seasonings. Towards the middle the cigar continues to stay mild and at no point is it really overpowering or harsh. Towards the last third the cigar does indeed pick up the spice a little but still retains its overall mild character. I would have to say that this is one of the more flavorful cigars out there that still retains its mild strength from beginning to end.

Good smoke with a consistent burn. Minor touch up in the beginning, but not a big deal. Plenty of smoke with notes of coffee, cedar and a little white pepper at the end. These are a classic and I smoke them often.
