Introduced in 1978 as the first brand of Tabacos Rancho Jamastran, this mild to medium cigar is made with Honduran tobacco grown in the rich soil of the Jamastran Valley. Wrapped in dark maduro wrapper, these bundled cigars are great quality for the price.

Honduras, a Central American country which shares a border with Nicaragua, is widely known in the premium cigar industry as the ideal place to grow Cuban and Connecticut seed tobaccos. Danli and the Jamastran Valley is considered the heart of Honduras’ cigar industry. The Jamastran Valley is known for producing a full-bodied tobacco that draws strong comparisons to the tobacco grown in the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba. This same region is also known for its Connecticut shade grown and Corojo shade grown tobacco. In addition, Honduras produces Cuban-seed sun grown filler tobaccos of the highest quality.

Some of the wrappers being grown in Honduras include Corojo, Honduran Claro, Honduran Criollo, Honduran Jamastran Viso Rosado, Honduran San Agustin Havana Seed and San Agustin Ligero.

A impressive looking cigar although a budget stick it's one that certainly does not break the bank, A very even burn and a great draw with lots of aroma with tastes of very pleasent tones of floral notes with crisp leather and earthy notes not a spicey smoke but a very good smoke from start to finish, a long smoke great for the price a good every day smoke.

I have tried the "high end" high priced cigars and I was usually disappointed with the quality of a "high end" cigar verses the price point. I tried National Maduros in an attempt to save some money and was pleasantly surprised as the National Maduroos are as good a quality cigar as cigars 4× their price point. They are a FANTASTIC $2 cigar and I cannot imagine going back to paying $4-$8 per cigar after smoking National Maduros.

Very disappointed in this offer. Draw was not too bad but the burn was very uneven one side then the other went out 4 times during smoke; aroma not good but not bad either just not much; taste was not good, seemed to be awful hot (probable due to the uneven burn) and to me at least bitter not smooth. I'm afraid this one is not for me.

First third: Cedar and nutmeg up front with a little spice and just a hint of pepper. Very short finish with a little dryness. Second third: Spiciness and pepper mellowed out into a nice mild nuttiness. Halfway point: Dryness turned into a nice creamy feel, but an overpowering bitterness destroyed the flavor. Into the final third, I regretted not putting it into the ashtray at the halfway point. Overall: I don't like a cigar that gets my hopes up and then bombs on me. The burn was problematic. One side of it refused to burn and it needed multiple touchups just to keep it going. Strength was on the mild side of medium. Considering only half of it was smokable, that doubles the actual price.

A fine cigar. The Maduro is a little heavy for me but the slightly sweet tip and constant draw make this a great cigar for the money. I save this for after dinner and guests.
