The Espinosa Habano was crafted by master cigar maker Erik Espinosa and is one of, if not THE most, well-rounded selections in his lineup. Offering a delicious medium-bodied smoking experience, this Nicaraguan puro prides itself on being extremely consistent, with notes of caramel, roasted coffee, and pepper, with hints of vanilla and citrus to round out the exquisite bouquet of flavors. Grown in La Zona, Erik's factory in Esteli, you'll be hard pressed to find a more complete and solid cigar for the price.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Natural wrapper, also known as Colorado Claro, is light brown in color.

Ecuadorian Habano
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Ecuadorian Habano wrapper has become one of the most used cigar wrappers in the market. Grown primarily by the Oliva family, this tobacco originated from Habano or H2000 seeds brought to Ecuador from Cuba. This leaf is rich and flavorful thanks to the temperate climate of Ecuador and the quality of its volcanic soil.
Binder
Nicaragua
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

NeptuneCigar.com The Espinosa is more medium-bodied than the Gloria Maduro, which approaches full-body territory, and while the LGC has perhaps a richer taste due to the wrapper, the Espinosa is much more complex and contains more notes to detect overall. Both great cigars!

After you have smoked the Crema as a morning smoke, this one is a great one to have around midday, as it similar in profile but amps up the spice and strength. Espinosa knows how to blend cigars that I find to be very creamy and well balanced.

Not a bad cigar for the price. A bit sweet at the cap and a little peppery about half way through. But for the price, can’t beat it. It’s a mild smoke, much better than what I was expecting. It does leave an after taste which I think is a bit ashy. For less than $8 a stick though it’s punching way above its price point. Good value and a good smoke.

The first inch I didnt like at all very spicy but then it smoothed out to minimal spice got some wood cocoa and vanilla and a good amount of sweet cream flavor but not much of a creamy texture. Draw was perfect. Smoked really well. Smooth. Flavor was very mild. I did get an extremely strong flavor of caramel through a retro-hale at the halfway point—it was incredible. The aroma was not great though. I prefer a more full body kick in the mouth flavor bomb, and this wasn’t that. I would definitely buy again to share with friends, but not for myself.

Nice aroma off the foot of sweet tobacco, faint hay aroma off the wrapper, draw is close to perfect. Very smooth almost mild with some sweetness, tiny bite on the retrohale, lots of creamy texture to the smoke, notes of nutmeg and spice , body still remains very mellow and mild not much kick on it. Starts to pixkup in strength after first 3rd, lots if smoke production throughout just has been mellow in body up until this point. Coffee notes and light pepper appear in flavor notes in 2nd third, this has had a nice transistion from the first third, and almost like a bready gingersnap note, getting very complex. In final third, smoke production wanes and the flavors seem to wash out. This cigar is all about the the second third. Burn pretty consistent through entire smoke but it did try going out on me at least once.

Wow, very good for such a cheap stick. Reminds me of the EP Carillo Encore with those smooth vanilla milk chocolate notes. Not as spicy or complex as the Encore though.

This medium brown beautiful Espinosa Habano No. 8 6 1/8 x 58 was called up after 17 months of humidor aging. Straight cut enabled a cold draw of tea and perhaps salty peanuts. Nice peppery salty tobacco and black tea flavors arrive immediately after the fire. Friendly draw and ample smoke provide lively, salty treats like white pepper, cedar, and nuts. Flavors are bright and almost pointed, not layered yet full, very good with sweet coffee. Burn is tilted quite a bit but still straight, and the gray-white ash cylinder looks smooth and strong. After 30 minutes the burn has self corrected and is sharp and level, while the white smoke is luscious and plentiful. After 80 minutes of excellence with only 1 1/2” remaining, this Espinosa Habano No. 8 6 1/8 x 58 is clearly a delicious, well made cigar.

Lit this one up about a week ago and was really looking forward to it based on the reviews in cigar aficionado. The flavors on this stick do not match the notes in Cigar Aficionado at all. After smoking it I looked up a couple other reviews that hit it pretty close to what I was getting. First half of the cigar is nice with an earthy and nutty base with a slight hint of sweetness that is hard to place and a bit of white pepper. Second half kicks in with a heavy leather profile. Good construction and burn was ok (a bit wavy at times).

For the last 6 months I've tried so many new cigars. Some of them were excellent and others not so good, my palate was begging for the comfort of something familiar. I decided to revisit my favorites and Espinosa with it's new presentation was calling out for me. As soon as it lit, it fills my palate with chocolate and pepper notes followed by some floral tones and a wonderful aroma. It started as a medium but in the second third it's more a medium plus with the pepper taking control and some interesting fruity notes in the back ground. The last third the chocolate is predominant again and in perfect harmony with the pepper and the floral tones. Excellent draw and burn, nice gray ash and lots of flavor. Overall a very pleasant experience.
