Ashton Cabinet cigars are made in the Dominican Republic at Chateau de la Fuente. The creator of the brand was Robert Levin, a tobacconist from Philadelphia and cigar connoisseur. Together, Levin and the Fuente Family have created one of the most sought after premium cigar brands in the world. The Ashton Cabinet Selection is a vintage limited edition cigar. The tobacco used for this cigar has been aged for 3-4 years and after the cigar is rolled it is aged for an additional year. It includes no less than six different tobaccos resulting in a rich, medium bodied cigar.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

Natural wrapper, also known as Colorado Claro, is light brown in color.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
The Connecticut Valley, in the Northeast of the USA, is well known for its bright golden wrapper. Because of a very hot and sunny summer, the tobacco is shade grown to make the leaf more delicate with few veins and even surface. Connecticut Shade wrapper grown in the United States has a mild to medium flavor and a silky quality, making it one of the most expensive and sought-after cigar wrappers in the cigar industry.
Binder
Dominican Republic
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Dominican Republic is a traditional tobacco-growing country. In the 60's, a Cuban seed was introduced and the resulting tobacco, called Piloto Cubano, became famous as a good substitute of the Cuban tobacco that was no longer allowed to enter the USA. Piloto Cubano is full bodied while the Dominican Olor tobacco is milder but more aromatic.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.
Filler (or “tripa” in Spanish) is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar. The Dominican Republic is considered one of the most premier tobacco growing countries in the world. The filler tobacco grown in this Caribbean island nation ranges from mild to full bodied. Olor Dominicano and Piloto Cubano are the main types of tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic.

This is a fantastic assortment of cigars, where every size is worth smoking, unlike some samplers where you get than one size that you hate. For the beginner or seasoned smoker, if you like mild to medium cigars this perfect. The Cabinet #3 first came out in the early 1990’s and it is as good a premium cigar out there.

I typically smoke med-full cigars but I decided to take the day off today. Even still, this is a thoroughly satisfying smoke when you are not looking for a kick in the head from your cigar. The aroma is like those sawn in half whiskey barrels used for planters. It produces a nice cloud of smoke that has a faint aroma of bourbon and carmelized butter.

As this was the first cigar I’ve ever smoked, I love this cigar for sentimental reasons. After 12+ yrs I still love this stick: mild, smooth with just enough cedar and leather to make it interesting. Not overly complex but, for me, the perfect breakfast or easy afternoon cigar with your favourite beverage. Highly recommend.

I have not had a chance to try all of them yet, but the VSG has quickly become one of my favorite cigars. I tend to prefer a medium to medium-full cigar, the VSG is definitely full in my opinion but it is super smooth and delicous! Awesome sampler for a great price!

The Ashton Cabinet No. 4, is a mild smoke but has a lot of flavor. It's a little on the high side (cost) but it's worth it. The entire Cabinet series is very good, I would definitely recommend you try them.

I like this cigar. However if "full" is the only thing you like, then this will not fit your bill. I like mild-medium cigars and this one is right in my wheelhouse. Thanks to Neptune for the ease of information gathering that allowed me to try something I haven't had before. There's about 4-5 mutually supporting flavors which come through evenly the entire time with no biting near the end. I'll be back for more.

I love a cigar with aged tobacco. Much less time consuming than aging it yourself. Aging really does make the flavor oh so much more mellow and smooth. Almost a hint of sweet. This is a wonderful mild torpedo. Extra smooth with a cream flavor. The draw has a nice firmness to it. Workmanship is what Ashton is know for: quality.

Ashton is a great brand and this is a good way to try them all out. Might want to grab two because sometimes smoking just one is just not enough to get a good judge of a smoke. Ashton is very smooth and consistence.

The Cabinet series really takes Ashton to the next level. I like the Ashton classic Magnum a lot, and this is even better. The added age adds a mellow and complexity to the Ashton smoke, which is already smooth and creamy. Construction was great, just like a good Ashton. Draw was good and controlled.

The care that is taken in the production of this cigar shows through to the finished product. The aging makes for a very smooth and complex smoke. This is one of my favorite Dominican cigars from one of my favorite tobacconists. The multiple tobaccos lends it self to a very smooth and creamy smoke. This is one of my favorite premium priced cigars. It is well worth the money if you just by a few or a box. A cigar for the ages.
