  CAO Amazon Basin

  CAO has traveled where no other cigar maker has traveled before to bring you the CAO Amazon Basin, a cigar made with rare tobacco from Braganca, a remote region in the Amazon forest. The tobacco is harvested only once every three year and undergoes six months of natural fermentation in the rainforest. Then, they are transported out of the forest by canoe to the mainland, where they are taken to CAO’s factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. The tobacco is then blended with tobaccos from five different countries and wrapped in an Ecuadorean Sumatra leaf from the highest primings.

  CAP Pilon is named after the "Pilón", in tobacco parlance, a stack of dried tobacco leaves that is created to begin the process of fermentation. Fermenting tobacco in a pilon is an old Cuban tradition that allows natural fermentation with maximum flavor and color. The makers of CAO have blended a cigar using a silky Ecuadorian Habano wrapper leaf that has been fermented in a pilon. The wrapper has a beautiful color and the cigar is woody, spicy and sweet.
