The Island Jim Barber Pole #2 Torpedo looked so cool I had to try it! This is a well balanced cigar that's perfect for when you want something different in your day. It's smooth and creamy, with a lot of nuttiness and a slight cedar note. I thought it was mild to medium in strength, and visually very different than most cigars thanks to the dual barber pole wrapper that combines the Connecticut and Corojo wrappers in a stylish way. Construction was excellent, the ash was super solid, and when passing the halfway point it hits you with some more toasted woody flavors, along with a sharp shot of nicotine before it's over. Overall, the Island Jim's sweet earthy notes make it an experience you need to try for yourself! Picked on 05/31/2026

I had never tried a lancero before this, and I wanted something good to make my first time a memorable one. I chose a cigar from one of my favorite brands, My Father. I was enjoying this cigar the second I twisted the pig tail off and began lighting! At first puff, I detected notes of leather and cedar, then it hits you with the smoothness of cream and wood. After the first third you start to feel a little bit of leathery pepper, it's amazing how the cigar literally evolves from creamy cedar to that nutty spice. It burns evenly, has a solid white ash, also has a very oily wrapper that provides a fruity/woody/buttery aroma that makes it unforgettable. Such a great cigar from the beginning to the very end. Perfect medium-plus strength stick to begin your day or finish your afternoon shift... I think I'm officially a lancero fan. Picked on 12/28/2025
