Paul I Lasher  Had my xikar digital hygrometer about 3 years and it is now way off. Can it be calibrated? Could a very low reading be due to battery. How long does battery usually last?

  • NeptuneCigar.com  Paul, the newer models do not allow calibration, but older models did. Battery life is usually around a year or more.

Matthew Wiley  I picked one of these up from you guys a week or so ago. Did the salt test on it and it reads 70%, can the unit be calibrated or is it just 5% off?

  • NeptuneCigar.com  It is not possible to calibrate these digital units. Our recommendation is that you repeat the salt test to make sure. These units are calibrated at the factory and shouldn't be off more than 1-2%. Most of the times what will fluctuate is the salt test (depending on how moist the salt is).

Mark  I did the salt test on this hygrometer that I purchased and it is reading 72% humidity, can this hygrometer be adjusted or do I just add the 3% humidity that it is off by?

  • NeptuneCigar.com  We don't believe so. The sensors are only on the face of the hygrometer, so this could not be used as an external facing hygrometer.

The back size is a standard 1.75" . You can now upgrade your old analog to a digital with the XIKAR PuroTemp Round Digital Hygrometer. Features: Accurate to +/- 2% at 70% humidity. Reads humidity in the range of 20% to 95%. Registers temperature in Fahrenheit and Celsius.
