The Southern Draw Manzanita Gordo got its name because its red-hued Habano wrapper resembles the red-bark of the manzanita tree, whose leaves were used by Native Americans as a substitute for tobacco. This medium-strength toro features a Habano binder, and a filler made of Pelo d’Oro, Corojo 99 and Ligero leaves from an undisclosed origin. The blend is cloaked by an eye-catching oily Habano Colorado Maduro wrapper. Once lit, the Manzanita offers up notes of dark chocolate, cedar, and earth with hints of floral, and a peppery retro-hale. The Southern Draw Manzanita is handmade in Nicaragua at the Tabacalera Fernandez factory, which is owned by AJ Fernandez.
