Part of the El Septimo Culinary Art Collection, the Italy Toscana Toro is aged in Tuscan wine barrels and designed with food-and-wine pairing in mind. I paired mine with a white wine, sparkling lemon and blood orange slices, which complemented the cigar’s smooth character and subtle oak notes nicely. The ash built and held well throughout the smoke. While the draw was a bit tighter than its siblings in the collection, it remained an enjoyable pairing! Picked on 08/26/2026

Early on in my cigar-smoking journey, I was intrigued by the band on this cigar. Serena means calm and serene, while Matilde means warrior. This cigar has an easy draw, with woody and earthy notes present throughout the smoke and a slightly bitter finish. I also picked up some mocha notes between puffs. I think this is a good introduction to a darker, fuller cigar for a beginner or for anyone wanting to try a new boutique smoke. Surprisingly, it pairs well with bacon! Picked on 07/31/2026
