The cigars are handmade in the Dominican Republic at the Tabacalera La iSLA factory, which is owned by Hostos Fernández Quesada. The Soldadera Edition is the first line of the Casa 1910 brand to be crafted in the Dominican Republic. The Casa 1910 Soldadera Edition was created to honor three brave women who fought fiercely to liberate their country during the Mexican Revolution. The Soldadera Edition. The Sampetrina was named in honor of Petra Herrera. Disguised as a man, Petra fought alongside Pancho Villa. Eventually, she led a group of female soldiers who were known as the soldaderas.

The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. This climate allows tobacco growers to grow Connecticut-seed wrapper in the shade without shade cloths, resulting in more economical wrapper.
