Which is the 601’s original blend and offers an invigorating smoking experience. It was first released as a regular production cigar and after a brief hiatus it was brought back as a limited edition stick. The cigars are handmade at the La Zona factory in Nicaragua.

When first released the 601 Black was highly regarded because it offered a more bold and robust smoking experience than the traditional, milder Connecticut Shade blends. Now you can enjoy this fan favorite all over again, but only as a limited annual release. According to Espinosa Cigars, a new vitola will be added each year. The 601 Black is made at the La Zona factory in Nicaragua.

  Ecuador is the perfect place to grow wrappers, because it is located on the Equator! And it has rich soils too. The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. This climate allows tobacco growers to grow Connecticut-seed wrapper in the shade without shade cloths, resulting in more economical wrapper.

  Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.
