Robusto

The Yagua Robusto is a cigar where the story is almost as interesting as the smoke. It uses an underfermented Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler, giving it a rich, dark profile with notes of cocoa, espresso, cedar, earth, and pepper. The underfermented wrapper also gives the cigar its distinctive look and requires a completely different approach to the rolling process.Handmade at J.C. Newman’s PENSA factory in Nicaragua, each Yagua is rolled without molds or presses and bundled while still wet using yagua palm leaves, a technique inspired by the way Lazaro Lopez’s grandfather made cigars in 1940s Cuba. The Robusto gives you that unique Yagua experience in a shorter, broader format, with every cigar having its own slightly irregular shape.
