Alonso Menendez Cigars

If you’ve ever smoked or have heard of the Cuban versions of the Montecristo and H. Upmann cigar, you most likely have heard of Alonso Menendez, the master cigar crafter who created these legendary sticks back in the day. Years later, Felix Menendez, Alonso’s son and founder of Dona Flor cigars, created the Alonso Menendez cigar in honor of Felix and the cigar legacy he had created. The Alonso Menendez cigar is a Brazilian puro, which is very hard to find, and features a dark, rugged, sweet Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper, a Brazilian binder, and a blended filler made of Brazilian Mata Fina and Mata Norte tobaccos. The Alonso Menendez brand was originally released in Europe where it became an overnight sensation. Although it is now available in the United States, the Alonso Menendez cigar is still considered a rare find due to its limited distribution.
