Quesada Oktoberfest is available in very limited quantities and released around October each year. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

The factory was founded by Manuel Quesada, his father and his brother in 1974 in Santiago, Dominican Republic.   The main tobacco region in the Dominican Republic is the Cibao valley in the northern part of the island. In the 60s, Cuban seeds were brought here by exiled Cuban cigar makers and found that they grew exceptional cigar tobacco, called Piloto Cubano. The native Dominican tobacco, called Olor, is milder than Piloto Cubano yet more aromatic. The first company to grow Dominican tobacco for cigar wrapper was Tabacalera Arturo Fuente in 1995.
