The Davidoff Year of The Tiger 2022 Limited Edition cigar uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper that underwent a special process so that it resembles a tiger’s stripes. To achieve the effect, wetted veins from the leaf are arranged across the wrapper. After that, the veins are pressed against the wrapper for 48 hours using a special press. This is a very delicate process because too much pressure can damage the leaves and too little will not produce the desired effect. Next, the veins are painstakingly removed taking great care not to damage the leaf. Once removed, the wrapper is allowed to age before being rolled.
