Cigar Box Art

As most cigar aficionados know, cigar makers like to adorn their cigar boxes with either their brand's logo, the cigar maker's family crest, or a nod to the country where the cigar was made. But did you know, they also like to decorate their boxes with the artwork of local artists? As part of an initiative to promote the work of artists from the Caribbean, Davidoff created a limited edition cigar that featured an artist. For example, in 2017 the Davidoff Art Limited Edition featured Rodell Warner, a Trinidadian graphic designer and photographer, whose work has been exhibited in Kingston, London, New York, Johannesburg, and Maracaibo. To promote Honduran art, Oscar Valladares created a limited edition cigar. Not only did they feature the artist's work on the box, Valladares went so far as to name the cigar after him. The artist is Elmer Ciseron Bautista, described as both a Post-Cubist Subrealist and Post-Cubist Minimalist, and the cigar is called the Oscar Valladares Ciseron.
