Developed by Rick Rodriguez, CAO’s master blender, the CAO Session’s dark and enticing USA Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper is draped over a Dominican binder and a specially blended filler made of premium tobacco from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The CAO Session is hand-crafted in the Dominican Republic, which is the first time that CAO has created a cigar in the DR in almost 10 years.

  Connecticut Broadleaf is grown in the United States' Connecticut Valley and is prized for its dark, oily, full flavored and aromatic characteristics. The plants are grown in full sun giving this cigar wrapper its characteristic sweetness. The Connecticut Broadleaf plant leaves are mainly processed as maduro tobacco. Today, Connecticut Broadleaf seeds are being grown in other countries besides the United States.

  Dominican Republic is a traditional tobacco-growing country. In the 60's, a Cuban seed was introduced and the resulting tobacco, called Piloto Cubano, became famous as a good substitute of the Cuban tobacco that was no longer allowed to enter the USA. Piloto Cubano is full bodied while the Dominican Olor tobacco is milder but more aromatic.
