The Churchill Vitola

The Churchill vitola was named after Sir Winston Churchill, the prime minister of the United Kingdom who led the British through their darkest hour World War II. Winston Churchill was fond of big cigars. Shortly after he visited Cuba and toured the Romeo y Julieta factory in the late 1940s (or 1950s), the factory owners named the then big-sized vitola (7 inches by 47 ring gauge) in his honor.
