How the Edmundo Vitola Got Its Classic Name

The Edmundo vitola was named after Edmond Dantes the protagonist in “The Count of Monte Cristo” the centuries old classic novel by Alexandre Dumas. The Edmundo vitola, which falls into the robusto category, was first introduced as part of the Cuban Montecristo brand. Over the years, using the Edmundo name for their robusto-sized cigars has gained popularity with cigar crafters such as Crowned Heads, El Borracho, and Southern Draw among others.
