Eric Newman Admitted into Cigar Aficionado’s Cigar Hall of Fame

On November of 2022, Eric Newman, the president and owner of the historic J.C. Newman Cigar Co. was inducted into Cigar Aficionado’s Cigar Hall of Fame, which recognizes cigar industry leaders and their accomplishments. Eric is the grandson of Julius C. Newman who founded the company in 1895. He joins his father Stanford as the second Newman family member to become a member of the Hall of Fame. 

In 1972, Eric joined the family business. He started by curing tobaccos and earned his way up the company ladder until he eventually became its president in 1986. With more than 50 years in the cigar business, Eric has seen many changes in the industry and feels that today’s cigars are of much better quality than ever before. 

As a member of the Cigar Hall of Fame, Eric not only joins his father, but he also shares the honor with other industry leaders such as Carlos Fuente Sr., Carlos Fuente Jr., José Orlando Padrón with many others.
