Draw Test

Cigars undergo a draw test to determine their ability to allow air to flow through them. An unfinished cigar is placed on a machine that sucks air through it. If the air flows easily the cigar passes the test. The draw test machine is also used to accurately measure a cigar's ring gauge and length. By conducting a draw test, the manufacturer is able to create consistent and trouble-free cigars.
