Senorial Cigars

Acclaimed master blender Jose Blanco has teamed up with his (also widely renowned) cousin Jochy Blanco to bring you Senorial. Stemming from his Las Cumbres Tabaco brand, this balanced yet complex blend is swimming with flavor, just like you knew anything with the Blanco stamp of approval would be. Made at the Tabacalera Palma factory in the Dominican Republic, Senorial is the result of decades of tobacco knowledge being put into effect, and as they say, knowledge is power.

Senorial is Jose Blanco's debut brand with his own company, Las Cumbres de Tabaco. Blanco, a 4th generation cigar maker, spent years working for La Aurora and Joya de Nicaragua before starting his own brand in his native Dominican Republic. The cigar is handmade at Tabacalera La Palma by Jochy Blanco, who is his cousin. The cigar uses an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and will deliver complexity and medium to full strength. An instant classic.

This cigar is very pleasing to the eye but since it was a new smoke in the shop of course I was extremely curious. The filler is Dominican Piloto and Dominican Corojo, binder is Nicaraguan, and the wrapper is Ecuadorian Habano. After this cigar is rolled, it is aged another 90 days before being packaged and shipped. Upon first light, earth and pepper notes explode along with notes of cedar. Definitely quite full-bodied and bold in first third. As I went into the 2nd third, notes of pepper and citrus were apparent. As the last third began, same notes were apparent along with some nutiness. Even though the spice amped up in the final third, there was a sweetness in the background that balanced things out perfectly. This cigar was smooth to the very end. The nub was cool to the touch. The burn and burn rate were great. This cigar also produced a nice amount of smoke. This cigar is not overly complex, but definitely gives a classic smoking experience. A full bodied cigar from start to finish.
