A sweet-tipped, medium-strength cigar with pleasing notes of grassy sweetness and fresh hints of cedar. Its Candela wrapper drapes a Mexican San Andres binder and Cameroonian long-filler leaves. Handmade at Jose “Jochy” Blanco’s Tabacalera Palma factory in the Dominican Republic. It’s only the cap of the Rough Rider Sweets that is sweetened with syrup; the rest of the cigar is not flavored, allowing the smoker to enjoy the tobacco’s natural flavors and aromas.

The factory is located in the La Palma free trade zone, which is in the Cibao Valley in the Dominican Republic. It is considered one of the oldest tobacco companies in the Dominican Republic. Tabacalera Palma makes cigars for a large number of companies as well as their own brands such as La Galera, Aging Room, La Instructora, and Sans Pareil.

To produce a Candela wrapper, the tobacco leaves are harvested and dried quickly before the plant has fully matured. This process locks in the plants natural chlorophyll content and gives the Candela wrapper its green color.
