Description
A bold but not overpowering cigar with a spicy complexity accompanied by a woody and nutty finish. Prior to rolling, this Nicaraguan puro’s Cuban-seed sun-grown wrapper was aged for 15 years in bourbon barrels. This exquisite wrapper cloaks a binder and filler that was aged for 15 years. The tobaccos used to create this commemorative blend were hand-selected and sourced from farms owned and operated by the Perdomo family in Nicaragua. The cigars are handmade at the Tabacalera Perdomo factory in Nicaragua. The Perdomo 30th Anniversary Box-Pressed Sun Grown cigar is available only through 75 carefully selected cigar retailers, which Neptune Cigars is proud to have been one of the chosen few.

Tight draw from the start, hard to pick out flavours, only got lots of pepper. 20th anniversary is hard to beat.

It's alright. It started really well, smooth and rather flavorful but then it just got peppery in the second third and I have to say it was unpleasantly harsh throughout. Not bad but not great

Not bad. Not great. Just straight up regular tobacco flavor. I did not pick up any other notes or aged taste at all.

An excellent choice. Great flavors very enjoyable. My go-to daytime smoke.

The burn wasn't perfect but flavor-wise it's wow-- like a better Cuban!

The 30th Anniversary Sun Grown Epicure kicked off with a really interesting mix of flavors. Right from the start, you could pick up natural tobacco, oak, earthy notes, some pepper, and a surprising sweet heat that tasted a lot like red hot cinnamon candy. At first, the natural tobacco stood out the most, but that didn’t last long—earthy flavors quickly took the lead, and a smooth milk chocolate note popped in, adding a nice creamy sweetness. Meanwhile, the oak, tobacco, pepper, and that red hot spice took more of a backseat but still added depth to the overall flavor. The pepper itself was pretty unique, with a mix of sweet chili and black pepper, and that combo came through clearly on the retro-hale too. As the cigar burned into the second third, the earthy and milk chocolate flavors remained the stars of the show. Those background notes—natural tobacco, oak, pepper, and red hot spice—kept hanging around and giving the profile some complexity. One thing that stood out during this part was that the pepper notes started to ramp up a bit. They didn’t dominate the flavor, but they definitely became more noticeable, especially through the nose. By the time you get to the final third, the flavor profile shifts again. Earth and oak become the dominant notes, giving the cigar a deeper, more grounded feel. The milk chocolate, tobacco, and red hot spice are still there, rounding things out and keeping it interesting. The pepper picks up a bit more in intensity during this last stretch, but it stays balanced and never gets too aggressive or overwhelming. All in all, the cigar offers a rich, evolving flavor experience with a nice mix of sweetness, spice, and earthiness from start to finish.
