A well-balanced, full-strength smoke with a chocolatey, earthy, spicy, and coffee profile. It features a Dominican maduro wrapper, Sumatran binder, and Dominican and Nicaraguan filler. Handmade in the Dominican Republic. The Manuel Quesada 70th Anniversary Belicoso was named after the brand’s founder and crafted to celebrate Manuel’s 70th birthday. The cigar was blended by Quesada to appeal to his palate. It offers a unique perspective from his lifetime of experience and dedication to the tobacco and cigar industry. It is a limited production cigar only 1,000 boxes of 10 cigars per box were made.

Quesada Cigars' Master Blender Manuel Quesada celebrated his 70th birthday in April of 2017 and released this limited edition personal blend to spotlight the occasion. Available in two sizes, this cigar is truly rare, with only 1,000 boxes made. A Dominican wrapper adorns the Sumatra binder, which contains premium hand-selected tobacco filler from both the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Complex notes of earth, nuts and fruit can be found within this exquisite masterful blend which is sure to impress even the most particular of smokers.

The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

Quesada Cigars are made by Manufactura de Tabacos, S.A., a.k.a. MATASA, which is owned and operated by the Quesada family. The factory was founded by Manuel Quesada, his father and his brother in 1974 in Santiago, Dominican Republic. MATASA’s vast portfolio of cigars includes the Quesada 1974, Quesada 40th Anniversary, and the Quesada Oktoberfest. They also manufacture cigars for some of the top brands in the industry.

The main tobacco region in the Dominican Republic is the Cibao valley in the northern part of the island. In the 60s, Cuban seeds were brought here by exiled Cuban cigar makers and found that they grew exceptional cigar tobacco, called Piloto Cubano. The native Dominican tobacco, called Olor, is milder than Piloto Cubano yet more aromatic. The first company to grow Dominican tobacco for cigar wrapper was Tabacalera Arturo Fuente in 1995.
