Description
The Macanudo 1968 robusto is a very aromatic stick, with an oily, medium brown Honduran San Agustin wrapper. The fillers are Dominican and Nicaraguan Ometepe leaves; the binder is a Connecticut Habano. With its flawless construction, this is a medium to full bodied Macanudo that is far more complex than the rest of the Macanudo line.

Very firm/hard construction with a very tight draw that did open up a little as I smoked it down. Wrapper started unraveling in the middle of the cigar shortly after lighting. I peeled part of it off exposing the binder and luckily it didn't affect the smoking experience too much. Medium to full-bodied with nice creamy blue-gray smoke output and flavors of bittersweet dark choclate, black coffee and cedar.

I was born in 1968. I had to get a box! Especially since it was Macanudo! Great cigar, loved the flavors, consistent burn. These are special occasion smokes and I love these cigars!!!

This cigar shows as a full bodied cigar, however, I would personally rate it medium at best, maybe even on the mild side of medium. That being said, it is a great cigar. Burns a little uneven but tastes great. I smoked these almost exclusively several years ago but got away from them when I found other brands I liked better. But I recently came back to the 1968 and have been enjoying it daily.

Mixed review, not a huge fan of 50 guage smokes, but the taste of these are pretty good. Burn is a little uneven and smells ok otherwise not bad for the value.

I wasn't overly thrilled with this one. I was told its a good beginners cigar but maybe I'm spoiled already by some of the other cigars I've tried so far. It's not a bad cigar, but it lacks a little in flavor.
