The blend for League of Fat Bastards Serie L cigar was developed by the brand’s founder Adam Levine (no connection to the band Maroon 5) and Juan Martinez of Joya de Nicaragua during the pandemic. Levine, who lived in Australia at the time, would meet with Martinez via Zoom meetings. During which time Levine would smoke test samples that Martinez had sent him. The Serie L’s blend starts off with a binder and filler made of all Nicaraguan tobaccos which is cloaked with an Ecuadorian maduro wrapper. The cigars offer a balanced, medium-bodied smoking indulgence that is underscored by a noticeable spiciness. The League of Fat Bastards pledges 40% of all sales profits to organizations dedicated to helping men with mental health issues.

The weather conditions, with a nearly permanent cloudy sky, provide a natural shade, protecting the wrapper plants from sunshine and allowing the tobacco to grow thin and light. Ecuador supplies Connecticut and Sumatra type wrappers to many cigar factory in the world.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together. 
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.
