The HVC Havana City Seleccion No.1 Maduro is the first cigar Lorenzo has released from his Fabrica de Tabacos HVC factory. It is a medium bodied cigar with a mouthwatering Mexican San Andres maduro wrapper that expertly covers a Nicaraguan binder and filler. Its unique packaging has a traditional Cuban styling that telegraphs the cigar’s Cubanesque profile.

  Mexican tobacco is very dark and the best leaves can be used as maduro wrappers. San Andres Maduro is a thick, medium bodied dark leaf, also called San Andres Morron. Like Connecticut Broadleaf, San Andres Maduro is stalk cut and used for binder and wrapper.

  Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.
