The Gurkha Private Select Ron Abuelo Toro is a flavorful, medium strength cigar that is hand crafted in Nicaragua. Its smooth, natural USA Connecticut Shade wrapper is infused with seven-year old Ron Abuelo rum to create an indescribable sweetness. This exquisite wrapper is then placed over a Nicaraguan binder and filler to deliver a complexity of flavors that includes cocoa, earth, and leather and is underscored by the rum's sweetness. To preserve its flavor, the Private Select Ron Abuelo is nested inside a glass tube that is sealed with wax.

I normally get the Gurkha Grand Reserve Churchill's but wanted to see what these were like. After all, one is infused with cognac and this one with rum. The draw was good. The appearance outstanding. The burn was decent, I did have to touch it up once or twice, but nothing too bad. The aroma and taste, were excellent. All in all, a good all round experience. They are, for me, a good substitute (especially in my wallet) for the Gurkha Grand Reserve Churchill's.

Rather gimmicky with the wax. PITA to get off. And still lose RH no matter what the claims. But like most Gurkha cigars I found it just meh.
