Bohekio Maduro Toro Gordo 6" * 55

The Bohekio Maduro is a line extension of this popular brand that uses Haitian tobacco. The Maduro features a mouthwatering Dominican Habano wrapper covering a binder and filler made of top-quality Haitian tobacco. It is a little known secret in the cigar industry that Haiti grows its own premium tobacco. The tobacco is grown in the fertile soils of Mirebalais, which is located in Plateau Central of Haiti. Bohekio cigars are known for their rich flavor and pleasing aroma. The cigars are handmade in Haiti by Supreme Tobacco. The cigar is named after Bohekio. He was the Cacique (Chief) of the Xaragua people, who were part of the Tainos: the first inhabitants of the island of Hispaniola.

The standard Toro shape is 6 inches by 50 ring gauge.

Most cigars are round in shape, as this is how the cigars are rolled by the torcedor.

This cigar is 6 inches long, or 152.4 mm.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

The cigar ring gauge corresponds to the diameter of a cigar, this cigar has a ring gauge of 55, so his diameter is 55/64 inches or 21.84 mm.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

Handmade cigars are completely made by hand from start to finish.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
The main tobacco region in the Dominican Republic is the Cibao valley in the northern part of the island. In the 60s, Cuban seeds were brought here by exiled Cuban cigar makers and found that they grew exceptional cigar tobacco, called Piloto Cubano. The native Dominican tobacco, called Olor, is milder than Piloto Cubano yet more aromatic. The first company to grow Dominican tobacco for cigar wrapper was Tabacalera Arturo Fuente in 1995.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.
