The Perdomo Reserve Champagne Noir is named after the dark, triple-fermented Maduro wrappers that the Perdomo family has taken the extra step to age in oak bourbon barrels, infusing the cigar with a sweet aroma and hints of chocolate and roasted coffee. This medium bodied Nicaraguan puro is also made with the same flavorful Cuban-seed seco, viso and ligero tobaccos used in their best selling Perdomo Reserve Champagne cigars. The smoke is balanced by the combination of the strong, higher priming wrapper with smooth fillers. Perdomo Champagne Noir cigars come in a Spanish cedar box painted black with the brand's logo.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Perdomo Champagne Noir in Toro. This cigar in Robusto is my #2 favorite. Having now had a couple of the Toro size from a box purchase, it's still going to be a favorite but not displacing the Robusto. In the first place, quality of Perdomo cigars is outstanding. I like the Champagne Noir for its rich flavor and unparalleled construction. It has a condensed sweetness like raisin or dried fig supported by loamy earth and leather. There are notes of coco and coffee in the aroma. I find the Robustos (previous box purchase) to have distinct chocolate notes, but I'm not getting that from the Toros. Different year, different blend, different vitola - who knows. No matter, I'm sure to enjoy every one.

These are labeled as toro size but they are large ring gauge sticks. For me the large ring gauge sticks are too airy muting the flavors.

I've not smoked all of these yet, but the flavor has been fairly consistent thus far--and that flavor is excellent. In a few instances, the taste has been out of this world. The flavors are like something from an alien planet--very tough to put in words. I can see why these smokes garner a high rating and for the price, they're an exceptional value.

I consider the Perdomo Noir, the little brother of the Perdomo 12 year vintage maduro. Two cigars both aged in oak bourbon barrels and both profoundly smell of dark chocolate. Where the Perdomo Noir stands out with a more cocoa powder taste. There is a hint of sweetness from the bourbon barrels but in my opinion the cocoa/brownie powder like taste overshadows it. Like others have mentioned, this is a strong smoke but it's worth trying.

It has been several years since I last smoked the Champagne Noir and I found it a good but unremarkable smoke. Out of the box I found these cigars wanting, the light was difficult and a hard draw for the first 1/3, the ash started to boat-tail but corrected itself about 1/2 way through. overall an OK med-full cigar; however I believe there are more enjoyable smokes for the price

One of my favorites! I don't enjoy a cigar that lingers in my mouth for days. This one had wonderfully rich and robust flavors that I would describe as toasted and nutty with little or no pepper and spice. The flavors were deeply satisfying but dissipated easily when paired with a good malty stout. The burn was perfect but it did require a bit of attention to keep it nice and warm. The final word: A fantastic cigar that I will definitely be buying again!

When lit, it burns even with no need for a relight. Smoke is abundant and smells earthy. Ash is tightly packed to the point of needing an extra bump to completely get rid of. Down side was that this is my second Perdomo and each time the wrapper started coming off after being cut.

This Cigar from Neptune(great group of folks) is my current favorite. I was previously a Camacho Corojo Maduro smoker.....but Luz recommended this one....and it has taken over. Well made,and a strong full flavored cigar. Not for the faint of heart.
