The Spanish word for decades is “decadas”. In 2005, Partagas released their first Limited Reserve Decadas, which are cigars whose tobacco has been aged for at least 10 years. The Partagas Limited Reserve Decadas 2020 sports a dark Cameroon maduro wrapper draped over a Mexican San Andres binder and a filler made of Dominican Republic Piloto Cubano and Mexican San Andres leaves. This multi-national blend is hand crafted in the Dominican Republic. To preserve the flavors of this vintage blend, each cigar is encased in a glass tube, and the tube’s cap is sealed in wax.

The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Cameroon wrappers are grown in the East part of the country. The growing area spreads over the eastern border, into the Central African Republic. Wrappers are air grown, without fertilizers and pesticides, by small farmers. The average plantation size is about one acre. The seed is originally from Sumatra, introduced in the country just after WWII.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
The San Andres region in Mexico is known for producing some of the best tobacco in the world. The tobacco is stalk cut and valued for its rich dark color and used to make noteworthy maduro wrappers and binders.

A little plain and straightforward this is a nicely presented cigar. A little too thin. Good burn and ash. Nothing on dry draw. Smells stronger then it is. Flavors are dark licorice Expresso. No complexity even at nine$ drop.
