The Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 is a dark, box-pressed, medium to full bodied cigar with hints of cedar and spice. They are named after the Exodus of Cuban families from Castro's Regime in 1959, of which the Toranos were part. Originally from Spain, the Toranos were one of the biggest and most well known growers of Cuban tobacco leaf. After fleeing Cuba in 1959, the family took their tobacco farming and cigar production to Dominican Republic, and later to Nicaragua, Mexico and Ecuador. Today, the Toranos are dedicated mostly to the production of cigars, but their extensive knowledge of tobacco is a great asset in producing some of the world's highest quality cigars. The Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 has been rated Outstanding by Cigar Aficionado numerous times (highest rating 92 points) and 4.5 points twice by Smoke Magazine.
