TABSA (Tabacos Valle de Jalapa) is 2016 Halfwheel’s Factory of the Year, the second consecutive year it has achieved such an honor. The factory is owned by Eduardo Fernández Pujals, the same man who owns the Casa Fernández brand and the large Nicaraguan tobacco operation, AGANORSA. While TABSA always had good tobacco, back in 2012 it had work to do when it came to making premium cigars consistently. Dion Giolito of Illusione moved production of his limited edition series to TABSA and the collaboration between them made the factory what it is today. Today, the factory produces the brands Casa Fernández, HVC, El Güegüense, Illusione and Warped.
