Aganorsa Leaf founder Eduardo Fernandez likes to share his rare tobaccos with his fans. It is one of the reasons why he created the Aganorsa Leaf Rare Leaf Reserve brand, which is devoted to crafting regular production cigars made from rare tobaccos. These Nicaraguan puros are medium bodied and feature a natural Jalapa wrapper, which is named after a region in Nicaragua that is known for producing a delicious tobacco that is as spicy as it is sweet. This awesome wrapper is placed over a Criollo binder and a Corojo and Criollo ’98 filler. Handmade in Nicaragua, the Aganorsa Leaf Rare Leaf Reserve is a rare treat you can enjoy every day.

I was a little underwhelmed with this vitola. The Corojo delivered on spice, but there was something playing in the flavors I didn't love. Being a corona I think the Jalapa wrapper was too forward.

Nice looking stick with excellent draw. Flavors were really nice in the first half almost had the cuban twang to it with a buttery smoke. The second half I had a ton of burn issues burning uneven and going out all together so that really ruined the flavors with so many relights. I will probably try a smaller ring gauge next time hopefully it will have less burn problems

This cigar burns very slowly, draws a little hard and burns fairly evenly. It has a nice aroma and a good flavor. It’s not worth the cost. The price is very similar to the Monte Cristo White Toro but doesn’t compare in quality.

Presentation is everything and it is the first thing that stands out about the Rare Leaf Reserve. the classic look, the band, the oily wrapper. The pre-light aroma transmits power, a mix of spices with sweet notes of cinnamon and cedar. First puffs are all about almonds, very nutty and creamy with some pepper. This cigar feels heavy in my hands, it is packed and I like it, construction is solid and the draw is perfect: not too tight, not too loose. After about an inch of smoking, the pepper is all gone and the creaminess takes control: latte, leather notes show now, the aroma is a perfect reflection of the flavors I’m getting on my palate. The second third is sweet with some floral/citrus notes. The creaminess and nuttiness have been the highlight of the entire smoke experience of this stick, they’ve been always there on the background. The pepper and the spices reappeared on the last third, there not predominant but to make the blend more interesting. I loved every inch of this cigar. No relights and no draw or construction issues. I paired it with a café con leche but with some Rum Havana Club Seleccion de Maestros might be even better.

I too had issues with the wrapper peeling when I v-cut it but cigar glue came to the rescue. Medium and creamy with a fruity sweetness. Decent draw and burn. Worth a try.

Overall good construction. Unique flavor profile. Smooth, medium and almost too complex (too many different flavors shifting). Spicy, some sweetness, leather, almond, yeasty bread, many transitions. I enjoyed it, but it felt like they were trying too hard to make it "rare". I paired it with coffee. Worth a try but didn't wow me.
