Crowned Heads The Lost Angel TAA 2021 6 * 52, Box of 20

Since 2014, Crowned Heads has launched an exclusive TAA limited release cigar under the Angel’s Anvil line. For 2020, they released The Lost Angel, which is considered a prequel to the Angel’s Anvil. Hand crafted at E.P. Carrillo’s famed Tabacalera Alianza in the Dominican Republic, the Lost Angel features a natural Ecuadorian Sumatra-seed wrapper that cloaks a Nicaraguan binder and filler. Medium in strength yet full-bodied, this angel has a down-to-earth flavor that is spicy, woodsy, peppery, and earthy. The Tobacconist Association of America (TAA) is a group of the top tobacconists in the nation. It consists of about 80 retailers and 40 manufacturers, which Neptune Cigars is a proud member.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

Mexican San Andres Maduro
The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Mexican tobacco is very dark and the best leaves can be used as maduro wrappers. San Andres Maduro is a thick, medium bodied dark leaf, also called San Andres Morron. Like Connecticut Broadleaf, San Andres Maduro is stalk cut and used for binder and wrapper.

Brazil Mata Fina
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Brazil grows tobacco from North to South. The East Central State of Bahia is an important cigar tobacco producer. The growing area is about 100 miles west of the state capital, Salvador da Bahia, an active port on the Atlantic Coast. Mata Fina is considered Brazil's finest leaf and is grown in the Bahia region.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

Luciano Tobaccos is a premium cigar manufacturer located in Nicaragua. The company was founded by Don Eradio Pichardo, a Cuban born tobacco agriculturist and master blender. Luciano Tobaccos produces cigars for some of the most highly recognized cigar brands in the world under nondisclosure agreements (NDAs). In 2019, Pichardo partnered with Luciano Meirelles and Tiago Splitter to form Luciano Cigars.

A strong “sipping” cigar. Became very strong in last third. Very nice easy draw through loosely packed but firm tobacco. Stronger than the typical Maduro. Very nice flavors and aroma. Lasted over an hour. Very light-bodied ash needs tending to prevent spill; sheds easily. The black label is a really nice touch; unusual. If you like strong cigars this is a “don’t miss”. Get it while you can. Very nice blend - smooth, not bitter.

Woah! this is an outstanding cigar. I had the pleasure a few years ago, of trying the Angles Anvil which I believe is the same line and which inspired me to buy a box of these. I have not been disappointed and would buy another box in a heartbeat.

Wasn't blown away but it was a decent smoke. The band is really annoying and had to be appreciated at an angle, black on black doesn't work. I did the story behind the cigar but I've smoked better Crowned Head releases.

The original was amazing, and this one is different but also excellent. This is a full bodied beauty of a cigar. Perfect burn and draw. While I prefer the original, this is an excellent choice. Terrific strength and nice flavors. 92 points from me.
