The Espinosa Las 6 Provincias LHB is a limited edition cigar that is part of the Espinosa Premium Cigars line. The name Las 6 Provincias LHB is a nod to Cuba’s six provinces. The LHB stands for La Habana which is one of the six provinces. Handmade in Nicaragua by AJ Fernandez, the Espionsa Las 6 Provincias LHB features an Ecuadorian Habano 2000 wrapper with a binder and filler from Nicaragua. The Espionsa Las 6 Provincias LHB is a medium-strength cigar will surely fill the void in any aficionado’s collection that is craving for a bit of Cuban Nostalgia.

Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Nicaraguan cigar wrappers are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Wrappers grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro wrappers are all produced in Nicaragua.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Good cigar. Will smoke again. First 1/3 is OK, really shines in the 2nd 1/3, though; super-smooth and flavorful retrohale in the 2nd 1/3. Last 1/3 transitions to more earthy flavors; still good but the 2nd is the sweet spot.. Perfect draw, lots of smoke, burned fairly even. Price is too high to be a regular; others are go-to’s at this price point. The transitions through the thirds are distinct and conversation-worthy when smoking with a friend.

As soon as we opened this cigar box I have had my eye on it— one cannot overlook the exquisite packaging and banding. This cigar is the first released in a series of 6 to honor pre embargo Cuba. It comes in one size— 6x54. The cigar is made with a dark Ecuadorian Habano 2000 wrapper along with Nicaraguan binder and filler. Upon first light, I am tasting a toastiness with earthy notes and sweetness. Cocoa notes also appear and pepper comes into play. Strength is med-full. Moving into the second third, the cigar is earthy along with a burnt taste which I personally love! A sweetness is also tagging along for a great combo. Chocolate notes are appearing. The pepper has definitely disappeared. It is now a full bodied smoke. The final third continues to be earthy, creamy, sweet, and delicious. Construction was near perfect— great draw, no relighting, strong long ash. I felt this was a very unique and complex smoke— definitely worth the price. Kept my attention from start to finish— a must try. Enjoy.
