Although a relative newcomer in the cigar industry, Warped has wasted no time in establishing a name for themselves. After a placement in the top ten of Cigar Aficionado's Best Cigars of 2017, Warped is keeping the momentum going with the Corto. This medium-bodied Nicaraguan puro is made at the Casa Fernandez factory in Esteli, and features an immaculate box-pressed construction in addition to a conveniently petite size, as its name suggests. A new size will be released every year to take the place of the previous one, inevitably making the retired vitolas a future collector's item. Don't hesitate and risk falling short and missing out on this year's Corto.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
Despite many decades of war and revolution in this Central American country, the cigar industry has thrived due to the hard work and tenacity of Cuban exiles to the land such as Plasencia, Padron, Oliva, Ortez, and others. Tobacco has been a force of social stability, and the country is now one of the principal exporters of premium cigars in the world.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Colorado is a medium brown color also known as EMS or English Market Selection as this used to be the color with more popularity in England than in America.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Nicaraguan cigar wrappers are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Wrappers grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro wrappers are all produced in Nicaragua.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

Small but powerful. This one has nice notes of cocoa, leather and spice all packed in a 30 minute smoke. Not a bad offering from warped but doesn't top my list.

I believe this cigar leans toward medium-full in terms of body. Small stick but packs quite a punch. Heavy on the leather, pepper, and dark earthy notes. My sample had a few burn issues. Worth a try if you're a fan of Aganorsa tobacco.

The Corto is a masterpiece of the Warped line. I love the fact it lasts over an hour at the Corona size. A full flavored, just above med strength flavor master. The transitions this cigar goes through are luxurious. From the instant black pepper & dark chocolate opening to the Carmel & cedar finish, I never want to put it out, even when I need to clip it to get every last breath it has to offer. By far, my favorite Warped cigar. Only wish they'd carried on with what I was told, when they 1st appeared at the LV Smokeout years ago. They were going to release a new size each season for several years. I would love to try the Corto blend in a panatela. No matter, this little beauty is always in my humidor, when I can find em!

Construction and burn is amazing. Like most Warped cigars, it's a beautiful work of art. More of a pepper blast, and definitely fuller-body compared to the other Warped blends, but also plenty of cedar, coffee, and some citrus notes. Lovely and intense.

As always with Warped this Cigar creates a unique smoking experience. A nice blend of flavors and aromas with good old tobacco near the front. I had some burn issues and the draw was a bit off. I could blame it on some humidity fluctuations but my other Cigars from that humi are smoking great. For a smaller cigar this is a pretty long experience at easily 90 minutes.

This is one of the most beautiful cigars I have ever held. It has a wonderful flavor and aroma to match as well. Super tasty all the way through! The aroma off the foot smoke was an absolute delight. I have a few more around, and am I glad that I do! Great candidate for buying a box!

Good construction, draw on the snug side (huge flavor improvement after I used perfect draw to open it up). Core flavors of wood, earth, pepper and "classic" aged tobacco PLUS all kind of other flavors popping up from start to finish, very complex smoke with lots transitions considering the size and the price, definitely the most bang for your buck in a single stick.

The Warped Corto is a soft, box-pressed cigar with a nice, deep-chocolate brown and red wrapper that covers a Nicaraguan binder and filler. “Corto” is Spanish for short. There are virtually no veins present and the cigar is rolled to perfection. This cigar has a perfect draw in which you can feel the leather, some earth notes, a well-defined black coffee, and black pepper. Through the nose, there is a nice amount of spice, but there is also a nice cocoa aroma that compliments the notes from the stick. The burn was even with a nice carbon line. The ash was white and chunky. If you are a smoker that likes medium to full-body cigars, but don't have a lot of time to smoke, then you need to try this one.

Pre-light draw: earthy, generic tobacco and wood. 1/3: Nuttiness right out of the gate. Some pepper, coffee, caramel and a creamy fruit round out the initial flavors. More pepper coming in the retrohale. Cedar begins to come through. Absolute razor sharp burn on this so far. 2/3: Natural tobacco is the predominant flavor. First (and only) ash drops gently just over 30 minutes in. I am tasting more earth with a nice leather flavor. This stick is smooth and balanced. 3/3: Sweet leather, earth and wood finish it out. Burn was incredible the whole way through. Beautiful white ash and tons of smoke during this 1 hour and 15 minute smoke. One of my favorite Warped cigars to date and an easy recommendation. Must try!
