Gurkha Marquesa Robusto 5 * 52, Box of 20

One puff of the Gurkha Marquesa will take you back to pre-embargo Cuba and a simpler time when cigars were all about flavor. The Gurkha Marquesa sports a smooth-brown Sumatra wrapper that is expertly wound around a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from the Esteli and Omepete regions of Nicaragua. Medium-bodied, the Marquesa has a nutty flavor that is accented with a tobacco sweetness.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
The Sumatra cigar wrapper is a dark leaf from the "black tobacco" sub-species family. It was first planted in the western Indonesian island of Sumatra by a Dutch explorer in the 1500s. Sumatra-seed tobacco is being cultivated in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Ecuador, and Nicaragua.

The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Nicaraguan cigar binders are produced mainly in Esteli and Jalapa, both lands with volcanic soil and excellent climate for growing tobacco. Binders grown in Jalapa have sweet undertones. Corojo, Habana2000, Criollo, and Maduro binders are all produced in Nicaragua.

Filler is the term used to describe the tobacco inside a cigar or the "guts" of the cigar.

Let me start off by saying Neptune Cigar is always awesome to order from. Never any complaints. However this Gurkha Marquesa is a joke. Veiny doesn’t describe it!!! After I lit it a hole opened up down the center that tracked from beginning to end. A complete struggle to keep lit and canoed after the first third to almost the end. It’s amazing that Gurkha would even put their name on this. Buy a Padron!!! Save yourself the grief and the money from this poor excuse of a cigar

I was pleasantly surprised by this one. I love a good Sumatra wrapper, and this one held its own. The flavors were sweet at times, with a little spice on the background. A great medium strength stick to enjoy any time of the day. My one complaint is that mine was pretty underfilled.
