The Kristoff Ligero Maduro is a full-bodied Dominican cigar with an equally full-bodied character. Ultra bold and uber rich, the Ligero Maduro features a Brazilian Maduro wrapper on top of a Dominican binder and Cuban-seed Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers which come together to provide a delicious smoke containing notes of coffee bean, dried cherries and figs, and cocoa which will smother your palate and leave you speechless. As with most Kristoff brands, this cigar also comes with a pigtail cap and shaggy foot for the ultimate boutique touch.

Most cigars are manufactured in the Caribbean and Central America.
The Dominican Republic is the world's first producer of cigars. Most factories are located in Santiago, in the center of the island, and in close proximity to the tobacco fields grown in the fertile Cibao Valley. While tobacco and cigars have always traditionally been produced in the Dominican Republic, many Cuban cigar makers established in the Dominican Republic after the Cuban communist revolution, elevating the quality of Dominican cigars.

Cigar wrapper color varies from green (Double Claro or Candela) to black (Maduro or Oscuro) with a full range of browns in between.
Maduro wrapper can go from dark coffee brown with a reddish tint to blackish brown (the latter also called Oscuro).

The wrapper is the last tobacco leaf to be rolled on the cigar, so it is the one the smoker will see.
Brazil grows tobacco from North to South. The East Central State of Bahia is an important cigar tobacco producer. The growing area is about 100 miles west of the state capital, Salvador da Bahia, an active port on the Atlantic Coast. The Northern State of Alagoas hosts a production around the city of Arapiraca where maduro wrappers are grown.

Dominican Republic
The binder is a full tobacco leaf that is used to roll the cigar, binding the filler tobaccos together.
Dominican Republic is a traditional tobacco-growing country. In the 60's, a Cuban seed was introduced and the resulting tobacco, called Piloto Cubano, became famous as a good substitute of the Cuban tobacco that was no longer allowed to enter the USA. Piloto Cubano is full bodied while the Dominican Olor tobacco is milder but more aromatic.

I had my doubts at first as it had crooked burn with fixing it many times. But very strong (a plus imo) and nice flavor. It was at about 69% RH so the burn might be ok at maybe 65-66 range instead. I may have to try these again later.

It is hard to rate a sampler overall but Kristoff as a brand seem to be average I dont mean that in a negative way Because they mostly all seem to bunt tast and look decent not great and not bad at all but for the price you cant go wrong and it gives you a chance to see which if any you like. Me personally I wont seek out any in this particular sampler again because there is much more to try but you may love them all

Good construction, very firm. Easy draw. Lots of smoke. A hint of chocolate or coffee, but I'm not getting anything on the retro hale. Nothing really stands out with this. All the tastes seem to be very subdued. The one I smoked had an uneven burn, that I kept having to correct. I found this to be a mild/mellow smoke.

Great cigar. Its wrapped tight, but the draw is smooth.. very smooth. Notes of light spice, cocoa, and wood were consistant for me, with a great after taste (the perfect balance). The burn was good but required a few touch ups starting around the half way point. Easily it's a 2 hour stick, but it doesnt stay lit for to long without a draw. I've been in the hobby for about 6 months, but smoking 5 sticks a week or more at times, i'd say aside from the burn which evens out anyway, this is an amazing stick.

The is a superlative selection if you really like well-made, strong cigars. The Maduro is a credit to its name; but if you like Maduros, the Maduro Ligato is exquisite. The GC is a strong cigar on steroids. A bit milder, the San Adreas has a unique flavor that's full, rich and slightly spicy. If you like muscular, finely crafted cigars, this bold pack is terrific! And it's a bargain at the price.

Fantastic cigar, smooth draw, my normal cigars are La Gloria but these will make it into my humidor from now on. It's wrapped with a Dark, oily Brazilian Maduro wrapper. The cigar burns true, delivering a medium to full-bodied smoke. The flavors are complex notes of dried cherry, coffee bean, cocoa bean, spice and a sweet finish. This is a must-try cigar!
